Diversified holdings.
Disciplined execution.
Enduring value.
A Permanent Capital Firm creating long-term value and cash flow generation from exceptional businesses.
The Willows Consortium is a privately held investment and operating entity focused on acquiring, developing, and scaling exceptional businesses. We identify as a "Permanent Capital Firm" because we have the intention of holding assets and businesses indefinitely, focusing on long-term value creation and cash flow generation rather than exiting through sales or IPOs. We take a hands-on approach and work within the businesses to build durable platforms that generate strong returns while creating lasting value for stakeholders, employees, and communities.
Founded in 1996 and Headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba. We operate with patience and discipline. We don't chase the 'next big thing', we help reliable businesses thrive for the long term.
Our portfolio spans manufacturing, food & beverage, media, and companies creating long-term value.
We identify high-potential opportunities, deploy patient capital, and apply rigorous operational expertise to create platforms that endure.
We target undervalued or high-potential assets with clear paths to value creation. Never chasing the 'next best thing'.
We work inside the businesses. We use Hands-on involvement to professionalize operations, strengthen leadership, and improve performance.
We build scalable platforms designed to compound value over many years, not quarters.
Founder & Director
Willows, often referred to mononymously, is a lifetime entrepreneur based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was always interested in business from a young age starting a lemonade stand every summer as young as 5, and began a freelance videography business at 13. He was never interested in formal education and graduated high school with a 48% average that the administration rounded up to a 50% passing grade so they “wouldn’t have to see him again.” His interest in entrepreneurship kept him away from post-secondary and Willows began working on his first “real” business when he was 18 years old.
Willows, along with his business partner and classmate Zach Isaacs, began working on an alcohol company in 2014 which would eventually open to the public in 2017 when they were 20 years old. They started their winery called “Shrugging Doctor Beverage Company” for a $50 investment, and is the Province of Manitoba’s first commercial wine vineyard, ever. Willows and Zach grow specially engineered hybrid wine grapes that survive Manitoba’s cold winters on their Pembina Valley Vineyard. Although Manitoba was called a region that was called 'impossible' to grow grapes on a Vineyard, he built the business to a Million Dollars in sales in less than 4 years during a pandemic that had much of the industry shut down. This project gained Willows a reputation for ingenuity, perspicacity and a will to succeed.
In 2023 Willows used his business experience and accumulated capital from the successful wine project to begin acquiring and operating more businesses. He first acquired Winnipeg’s “Maple Leaf Rubber Stamp” , a manufacturer of rubber stamps and other engraved items. The company founded in 1932 saw their owners’ retiring and wanted to “pass the torch”. In 2025 Willows acquired 114 year old “CanMark Industries” which is also a custom engraver and stamp maker. After many successful businesses, Willows has quickly made a name for himself by being able to identify undervalued companies and jumping in to operate them to their full potential.
It is Willows' intention to build a dynasty of businesses that will outlast many generations.
Chief Operating Officer & Chief of Staff
There is no better way to illustrate raw passion for something than by dedicating your life to it, which Alyssa certainly has for business and management. After discovering a love for food and baking as a child, she spent her teenage years working in restaurants which started her down a culinary path. After high school, she attended Akademie Deutsches Bäckerhandwerk located in a forest castle in the town of Weinheim on Bergstrasse, Germany. There she studied under master baker and business economist Bernd Kütscher (managing director of the German Bread Institute, coach of the German national bakers' team).
After graduating the Baking Academy, Alyssa returned to Winnipeg where she began managing Old Church Bakery, and later managing Hildegard’s Bakery - assisting in building them both to become Winnipeg institutions. Feeling unfulfilled with working for somebody else, Alyssa founded and launched her own company called Prairie Wolf Bakery, quickly finding her niche selling at farmers markets and other artisanal shows.
Prairie Wolf Bakery joined the Willows Consortium in 2023 with Alyssa joining our Executive team. Her lifelong experience of managing people has been a massive asset and keeps our operations moving smoothly.
